The Chaparral Aquatic Facility is a truly distinctive project that exhibits the spirit of cooperation that exists between the Temecula Community Services Dept. and the Temecula Valley Unified School District to provide a mutual service to their Community. The goal of the project was to provide a joint use Aquatic facility that would meet the needs for the Temecula Community Services Department (TCSD) and the Temecula Valley Unified School District.

The project design committee worked with design consultants to develop a master plan. The plan incorporated community needs for learn-to-swim, recreational swim, and competitive swim programs. The School District is now able to offer competitive swim team opportunities and has added water polo as a competitive sport in the facility’s first year of operation. This new facility has made it possible to provide pool time to two local non-profit recreational swim clubs for practices and competitive meets. Youth and Adult Learn-to-Swim opportunities increased by 1,150 lessons in its first season. Numbers of children, teens, and adults enjoy the fun of zero water play, cannonball divers or just a leisurely lap swim.

The Chaparral Aquatic Facility incorporates state of the art technologies, which reduce the costs associated with aquatic facilities. Automated chemical delivery which ensures efficient use of natural and financial resources. Both pools and zero depth water area have their own filtration and mechanical systems. Systems are monitored by computer, requiring less maintenance man-hours and experiencing less down time.
